The Christmas season is upon us. Mistletoe, anyone?

Ah, Christmas holiday. The joy of waking up to find presents piled at the foot of one's bed. To decorating the House Elves' heads with Santa hats and reindeer horns, only to have Mother chase me screaming out into the snow. What joyus memories.

Of course, Bellatrix is bringing her husband home for Christmas this year. Rudolph, his name is? Wonder if his nose glows red....Will have to make it do so if it doesn't naturally. And Narcissa will be there, naturally, sitting on the sofa and pouting prettily and demanding egg-nog and stomping her feet because her mum says she's "too young". She'll get it this year, she will. Whole bowful. Right over her head.

Whoever said "There's no place like home"? I prefer "You can't ever go back again." Nor would I want to. Bah humbug.

mssrmoony: Bah Humbug, indeed

Well Padfoot, you're certainly more than welcome to stay with your humble friend, Messr. Moony ... I'm not certain if I'll be released from La Pomfrey's Prison in time, but I'm certain either wiling the hours away with me in the Tower or traveling to the Lupin family, er, shack would be preferable to having to stare at Bellatrix's mug for days upon and and be helpless to decorate it in the spirit of the season ... I would consider it an insult to our dear friend Prongs to deck her in reindeer horns, but perhaps a carrot nose would improve upon her features.

A carrot nose. And use a Permanent Sticking Charm to apply buttons to her eyeslids. Or should I use coal? And devise a Charm that will encase her body in ice...I can see it in all it's glorious beauty now...

And while I appreciate the offer to come see your family (sneak some of your mother's snickerdoodles and scones back for me!), I am required to refuse. Mother is making me sit for a portrait this year. I do believe I am frightened.

Oh, but I insist. We can dress Severus in your clothes (don't worry, we'll wash them throughly afterwards), drug him, and send him on his merry little way to the Black family abode. I'm sure they wouldn't mind the switch, and I'm sure you wouldn't mind spending the holidays with me. I think that Wormtail might be joining me as well.

Perhaps we could find a way to Charm him so he looked like me as well? Then Mother would be thrilled. Her little Sirius would finally be the Black he was meant to be...Nah. Why make the old bat happy?

Would you make the old bat happy if it meant you never had to go back?

If, my dear Moony, you are inquiring if I would flee the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black, even if it meant my mother rejoicing with a cake and fireworks and even giving Galleons to the poor, then yes, I would. Sometimes, my mental health comes first.
